All About the Benefits Baby

Employee benefits is something that has been very important to me lately. I've worked for my employer for almost 5 years. Recently I was told that I'd have to take two days without pay due to me not having enough sick/vacation time to cover the time I was in the hospital and home sick. I can't even begin to explain how upset I was. I've spent many a nights working late, sometimes til 2 a.m., to help meet deadlines. Rewards come in the form of modest bonuses. Modest as they were I appreciated them and thought I was appreciated as well, but having to take leave without pay (LWOP) definitely made me reconsider that.

Around the same time that I found out about LWOP, a friend of mine interviewed at a company called O Power and she told me to look at their benefits. Immediately after looking at their benefits, I went to see what positions they were hiring for. Their benefits seemed very employee-friendly and I definitely wanted to be a part of a company like that.

Memories of U

Its 5 a.m. and I've been up for two hours. I can't go back to sleep and the ipod in my head keeps playing "Wonda - Memories of U," on repeat.

I fell for my ex because it was easy. We had been casual friends for months and I had successfully dismissed his attempts to take our relationship further. One day our short conversations changed. One long conversation turned into another conversation. Two conversations turned into three or four, until we began to speak every day, all day. Conversations flowed and so did the feelings and emotions. It was just natural.

I never had to question whether or not he loved me because he constantly expressed words of affirmation. We had a beautifully broken relationship. I thought we had found love in a hopeless place. (queues Rihanna next in my playlist) I shouldn't, couldn't and won't say what went wrong, but it did.And like the saying goes "all good things must come to an end," so we did.

I have a permanent inked reminder of the memory of the love that once was and the memories  of u...

Funny What A Difference a Year Makes

This speaks for itself and is so true in my life.

There's No Place Like Home

January has always been my favorite month of the year because its my birth month and many of my favorite people are January babies as well. However, this past January was not that good to me. I was in this crazy funk and totally unmotivated. My dad had a serious surgery the prior month and I even landed a stay in the hospital for a couple of days (UGH). Again, I was labeled a "Fall Risk" and this was all over my chart.
